GEM: Hunters Go Hungry
Hunters Go Hungry is a multimedia project we did for the Utrecht based band Gem. The result is a website featuring two expeditions Bas Koopmans made with an iPhone strapped to his shoulder.
What we did:
bas with shouldercam
Bas walked two routes to make two videos for two songs from the Hunters Go Hungry album. He recorded his expeditions with an iPhone he’d attached to his shoulder that took pictures at a regular interval. During these travels he collected any interesting items he chanced upon – items which in the end became the sculptures that represent these journeys. You can view the result in four different ways on the site: the artwork, the music video, the route and the photos.

The data from the iPhone was converted to four different views:
1. sit back and enjoy the time-lapse music videos;
2. discover where the parts of the artwork were found
3. follow the route on the map;
4. watch the separate frames as shot by the iPhone.
It’s also possible watch all four perspectives at the same time. The iPhone photos were used to make the time-lapse, and META-data from the photos was used to recreate the path that was walked.
